When BTGuard sends you a reminder for payments they send it to the email address you used when paying for the service through PayPal, not the email you have registered with them. That means they save all your credit card information. Anonymous? Nope, not at all. Speed? Don’t even for a minute think that what BTGuard writes on their home page Does not hide IP address as advertised. I signed up for the BTguard proxy service. I'm using Win7 on a Lenovo laptop, the software would install but not properly. There is no encryption. BTGuard offers a strong 256-bit AES encryption, this is the industry’s strong encryption. BTGuard’s VPN supports PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) and OpenVPN protocols. PPTP is an obsolete tool that has proven to be vulnerable time and time again. BTGuard a good choice for staying anonymous? : torrents I tried BTGuard, I couldn't get any torrents to work through the VPN with their instructions, contacted them twice over the course of a couple of weeks and never heard back. Jun 23, 2015 · BTGuard Website. The VPN, on the other hand, comes with PPTP and OpenVPN as protocols, the later being fairly safe. On the other hand, BTGuard only offers regular encryption and not the super-strong 256 bit AES some others have, but it can still be considered as reasonably strong. This means that on the encrytion side of things, you should be good.
